one thing i really hate about my apt. is that i have to always make a u-turn on Beach because there's no direct turn into the entrance. well, on the opposite side, there's a no signal left turn that the cars can make too, so it's difficult to see oncoming traffic if a car's waiting there. well, after an emotional day of Christian Academy, being 20 min. late for tutoring from 405 traffic, and RETURNING home in traffic, i just wanted to get home as soon as possible so i can rest and cry about my day.

so i'm making my daily u-turn on Beach Blvd. and an oncoming truck that i didn't see swerves out of my way in the nick of time. the defensive driver is upset and just stops his car in the middle of the road to follow me into my driveway. just when things couldn't get any worse, he pulls up to my side and busts out a police badge.

me: oh no.
angry driver: PULL OVER!

i quickly prayed a desperate prayer. he asked for an explanation. i gave him an explanation. he cussed. he pointed his finger forward and yelled at me to go. i parked. i looked into my rearview mirror. he made a u-turn. he drove away. i sank.

my dad told me that it's better to be a safe driver than a "good" driver. i concur with my dad. i don't care how bad you need to get to my house. be careful on that u-turn on Beach Blvd. cause you just might hit a cop car one day.

i think i heard christian music coming from his car.

Thank you, God, for answering everything today.

i haven't been an insomniac in a while. it is 4am and i have to be up in 3 hours. i needed something to do to kill time or make me sleepy so i just looked for random pictures that went with the lyrics to my favorite Foo Fighters song, "Times Like These." you should listen to it as you enjoy the pictures.

I am a one way motorway

Im the one that drives away

Then follows you back home

I am a street light shining

Im a wild light blinding bright

Burning off alone

Its times like these you learn to live again

Its times like these you give and give again

Its times like these you learn to love again

Its times like these time and time again

I am a new day rising

Im a brand new sky

To hang the stars upon tonight

I am a little divided

Do I stay or run away

And leave it all behind?

Its times like these you learn to live again

Its times like these you give and give again

Its times like these you learn to love again

Its times like these time and time again

Thought of the Day: It's times like these you learn to regret napping during the day again.

i hate driving. i hate trucks. i hate broken computers. i hate family responsibilites.

we sang "God is so good" at christian academy today. i hadn't heard that song in so long that i honestly wanted to cry when we sang it together. 4 simple words. 1 profound statement. but i think what's even more profound are the last 5 words-"He's so good to me." think about everything you hate for just a minute and sing the song in your head or aloud. i think even if it's just for a moment, you can forget about every trouble or dislike when you sing that song. sing it, edu. sing it, esther bang. sing it, phil!
