so lately, there's been some protesting against declaring war on Iraq. everytime i walk on ringroad and look at the group, i never see any asian people.

minh: naw, asian people are cool. they'd only protest if like a rockgroup broke up or something.
me: ahahahahahaha. a rockgroup?
minh: yeah! or something!

today, i saw my writing teacher in the protesting group. as one of the students mentioned in class, i was too embarrased to say hi to him. haha. they're just out there doing such a shameless act in front of the whole school! and so i did what everyone else did...i just walked past him.

however, today's writing class was surprisingly really good! (no thoughts of throwing GAK today. haha). we analzyed a poem in class and it was really fun with our teacher b/c that fool absolutely LOVES literature! he was like quoting all this poetry to the class and was like, "man, this stuff's deep!" and the class was like dead silent. lol. but we had a really good time with this one poem that was ambiguous like no other! well, i now have an ISHload of hw for this weekend, but at least today's class was cool.

tonight, i joined my first 9 ball tournament at Zot Zone. man, i had fun though cause i felt like i shot fairly well. the first guy i played, i was super duper nervous. butterflies in my stomach like nothing else! but dang, that 4-0 win really encouraged me. hehe. however, the second guy i played really sucked and made a buncha crap. i lost 3-4! a very disappointing loss. then i played this one guy who had the craziest english! i thought he was really skilled though. it's just that he kept choking on the 9 ball. 5-2. and finally, i play freakin' hideo and i lost 3-4. tournament's fun though! $4 for like 3 hours of pool. the only negative is that i couldn't eat dinner b/c i had to go straight to pool right after class. bunz and i learned alot tonight. it was a humbling yet fun experience. pool booya!

after pool, we played some blackjack but minh introduced us to a new game, the vietnamise animal dice game! dang, that crap is sooooo fun! you put money on an animal and the house rolls 3 dice. if your animal comes up, you win however much you put in. if 2 of your animals come up, you win double. 3 is triple. man, watching willburt play is sooooo funny! SHRIMP SHRIMP!!! YEAAAAAAAAAAH! ahhahahahaha. and if he loses, you hear a loud F-word. lol. you lose money but it's such an emotional rush. it's either yeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhh or awwwwwwwwwww! and then laughter. haha.

dude, why is it that every girl loves watching American Idol? why is it that everyone is doing that army thing on their profile? why is the sky blue? why does kangta sing so well? why am i awake at this hour?!

what a coincidence! i saw Lion King with my friends the same day Tiffanie wrote about it! craziness!

once again, i was feeling like crap after my writing class. i seriously feel like i need a cigarette every time after that class! anyways, i called my mom right after class b/c i hadn't called over the weekend...our weekly phone call. so it looks like i'm not going to NY this spring break. mother wants to see father for about a week so i gotta take care of the family's baby. apparently, my mom still doesn't trust my brother all home alone. well, i actually don't blame her cause my brother still does not know how to take care of himself. i mean, if you left him home alone for a day, he'd just eat ramen all day and play starcraft. anyways, my mom and i were talking about how my brother hasn't been getting much sleep for a while. bad case of insomnia.

man, thinking about his living conditions next year is really a bother. i never realized how much it stressed out my brother. the poor guy. korea with my parents or stay here with another family? it wasn't until a few days ago that i finally prayed about it for the first time. i'm so stupid.

but as always, Clusters was the right medicine that i needed. it's always encouraging to just chill with the guys and share different things and pray for each other. i never feel like going but i always end up going and i never regret it. last night, we had a joint group with the girls so we played Cranium. fun stuff. wait a minute...now that i think about it, EVERYONE came out last night! that's the first time we've done that...not including Thanksgiving dinner. haha.

(liza trembling).
girls: earthquake!
eugene: alrite chris, your turn.

sean: True or False. the human face uses more muscles to frown rather than smile.
liza: *frowns* *smiles* *frowns* *smiles* oh, it's frown! wait...*frown* *smiles* yeah, it's frown.

ahahahahahahahah.

gosh, i was going to blog really late last night b/c my freakin' dormmates woke me up, being so loud! unfortunately, blogger was down so i just worked on my paper. man, i didn't actually look at my edited paper until i got home. the poor thing was bleeding with red ink everywhere!

mr. hood: listen, i know it's an emotional thing when people just write all over your work. but really, don't feel bad.

riiiiiight. don't feel bad. YOU'RE DANG RIGHT IT'S AN EMOTIONAL THING! i think that was the reason why i couldn't fall asleep til after 5. did you know that stress gives you insomnia? it's the worst feeling when you're really tired but you can't fall asleep, isn't it simon?!

so today was an even more stressful day for me. the WHOLE day was spent writing my paper. hours and hours of writing. delete. copy and paste. delete. flip through pages. look up words. ahhhhhh! the insanity. i even decided to meet up with my professor to help me out with my paper. 8 min. was all he had. thanks for nothing you bastard!

mr. hood: hey phil. how are you doing?
me: stressed out b/c of this paper.
mr. hood: don't be stressed. just don't do the paper!
me: ahahahahhah.

what? anything positive? oh yes. i went out to CCM for the first time tonight. chris gave me a call and told me that SD and LA were coming to irvine tonight. so i brought dykas with me and it wasn't so bad. praise was awesome. just really cool praising God with all these other christians you don't know. the message was fairly good too! i finally understand what it means to "heap coals onto their heads."

so i come back from CCM and find minh and annie drinking. man, i haven't seen this scene in a while. oh yeah, last night freakin' ted and his friend were freakin' blazing in my room while i took a shower! what a bunch of bastards! don't even save me some. lol. j/k. no, but that's really messed up, smoking up in my room like that. they could've seriously gotten me kicked out of irvine! dude, they're like not even my friends. yeah, that was pretty messed up. i can't believe they smoked w/o me! lol.

oh geez, it's almost 3am and i have class at 8. i don't think i'm gonna go. i'll just sleep in, wake up, eat, finish up my hw, and go to my remaining classes. i love classes that don't require attendance. so much flexibility. ha! stupid high schoolers. i laugh in your face!

so far, this year has 3 crushes. man, that's alot compared to my usual 0. but it's fun. emotional ups and downs.

minh promised to take me out to korean food tomorrow. his treat. but then again, he was drunk tonight so i'm not sure wassup. haha. we'll see....

so i went to my psych. class really early in the morning today. 8:00! in college, that's a really early class. ugh. anyways, i was paying attention to the lecture and this girl comes in late and sits right next to me. of all the seats in the whole lecture hall, she decides to sit next to me! wow! a pretty upperclassmen sitting next to me! i mean, i see alotta pretty girls on campus but i've never actually sat next to one before. haha. oh yeah, i must emphasize that there really aren't many pretty freshmen. the pretty ones are all old, unfortunately. anyways, so halfway into the lecture, i miss one of the notes but i just forget it. however, i receive an "excuse me, did you write down what he wrote for the Successive Contrast?" AHHHHHHH! here was my chance to somehow help out this pretty girl and the one thing i wasn't paying attention to, she just happens to ask me. "no, i'm sorry. i didn't get that either." about 30 min. later, i don't understand what the professor is talking about so i decide to ask her, "oh, what does that C+ thing mean?" she mumbles something but all i'm doing is paying attention to her face. "oh ok, thanks." (wow, she's pretty!). and right before the lecture ends, i decide to ask her another thing i don't understand. "oh, do you know what the 0 and the slash mean?"

i think she left the lecture feeling alotta regret sitting next to a stupid freshmen. but what can i say? i'm just a typical guy who acts stupid in front of pretty girls. hehe, yeah. she was cute.

today, everyone was getting ready getting ready to surprise me for my birthday. i had no idea they remembered, but something seemed a little different today. i would hear little chit chats about surprising me here and there so i was kinda expecting something kinda cool today. but i was really tired so i took a nap in the evening. then i received a phone call...

me: hello?
lori: hello?! phil!
me: (dazed). hello?
lori: it's me! do you know who this is?
me: oh, hey connie.
lori: oh, were you sleeping?
me: yeah.
lori: oh, i'm so sorry! i always call people when they're sleeping.
me: it's ok, i needed to get up anyways.
lori: yeah, i was just calling to let you know i was in irvine!
(1 min. later)...
lori: ok phil, i'm going to let you go.
me: ok, bye.

it didn't take me too long to realize that it wasn't my birthday today. i thought she was going to call me to somehow surprise me with everyone, but everything before the phone call was just a dream! it was such a disappointing realization.

today was Super Bowl Sunday. man, what a super crappy sunday it turned out to be though. oh the results of only getting 5 hours of sleep and 1 hour of sleep the night before. service was tough. Thai BBQ was ok. but after some debate, i decided to watch the Super Bowl at phil's place instead of coming home early and sleeping. that was the worst Super Bowl i've ever seen in my life. Raiders sucked pretty hard today. the least ABC could've done was give us some fairly entertaining commercials, not including the movie previews. man, even Gwen Stefani's live performance was crap. surprisingly, the highlight of my day was the nap i just woke up to, mentioned above. man, i need to wake up completely and stop writing "just awoken" thoughts.

freshmen retreat was lots of fun! our speaker was Jason Kim, the OMC youth pastor who spoke at kcpc retreat a year ago. same ol' guy, ironically with similar messages? but i got to meet alot of the other freshmen i hadn't met yet. isn't that crazy? i've been going to CPC since october and i still don't know my whole class! but that was taken care of at the retreat. some interesting people i met....

susan: UCSD. loves korean music (woohoo!). folks, the girl can dance!
diana: what?! she doesn't go to riverside? well, this girl also listens to korean music and she has the dopest phone! it's a phone from korea but she just uses a Cingular sim card. awesome no? yeah, i like it when she smiles...makes me smile too.
carolyn: surprisingly, this girl's been going to CPC ever since she was really little! "hi, what's your name? is this your first time here?" how embarrassing! but she was an interesting chick too! English major and will listen to absolutely nothing but alternative. "woah, that's fascinating!" lol.
carol: riverside. *thumbs down* however, God calls us to love ALL people right? haha. she's one of those quiet nice girls. "hi carol." "hi phil." *smile*
hannah: omg. people from chicago have the craziest accent! the whole time, i never noticed that she had an accent. she says "college" and "hotdog" really funny. it's weird talking to her. i enjoy listening to the interesting things she talks about but she's got this accent that really boggles my mind! i don't know. i don't think she likes me.
susie: the other freshmen rep.. really nice girl (the same one who's got some mad bodyworshipping skills).
albert aka doug: one word. GANGSTA! this fool was from korea, international student. he's really cool though. homeboy can bust flows like no other...english AND korean! how dope is that? yeah, i admire the guy in alotta ways.
brian: happy to see him come out and meet the rest of the freshmen. i didn't get to know him too well, but he's just a nice guy to talk to. i hope he had a good time.

yeah, there's just a gang of girls in our class. like 10 guys and 15+ girls? i really didn't feel like leaving the retreat. 2 days, 1 night retreats are way too short! it's alrite though. i came back with plenty of memories...

1. eating at A&W's. overrated crap but good fellowship.
2. BBING!
3. connie's presentation of pictures.
4. ASSAH! man, it's been a while...surprisingly fun with new people.
5. slapping lisa crawford in the face multiple times. lol.
6. the snoring trio. i was THIS close to ripping off dinko's nose!
7. the rap performances...dykas with the mikas! lol.
8. me, dinko, and sun putting on jessica's and elisa's shirts.
9. pizza hut. no Islands.

well, back to my dorm of sin...but thanks for the memories guys.

so i've been on this anime craze these past few days. the other day, i finished about 8 episodes of GTO and started one episode of Naruto. last night, i watched 12 episodes of Naruto!!! man, minh seriously has no will power. he always tells me that he's going to "study hardcore" but it just seems that everytime he says that, he "PLAYS hardcore!" all the anime i watched, he watched with me. "just one more! c'mon!" haha. so this morning, we finished all the Naruto episodes they had availabe for download. i know anime seems like such a loser thing to do. i know girls can't stand guys who just sit on their butts all day and watch anime. haha. it's kinda funny b/c ironically, guys take pride in how much anime they've seen. "yeah dude, i finished that series in 2 days! i just started a new one today!" (dykas and terrance). haha.

why is it that everytime i blog, it always falls on days where i have my writing class? today, i was in class and i started daydreaming (as always). but the thing is, i have this one daydream that i ALWAYS think about! like when the lecture is really boring or i don't understand what the professor is talking about, i imagine myself getting a fat piece of green GAK (do you remember this stuff?) and just throwing it against the frontboard. the class falls silent and all eyes are on me. *shrug* pretty weird huh? i don't know why but i always think about doing that. ever since my calculus class in senior year, i've had that same daydream in almost every class in almost everyday. but nevertheless, there's always funny moments in writing....

teacher: so you're going to be critiquing Brian's paper. if you don't do a good job, he doesn't do a good job. if you mess up his paper, he's going to kick your ass!
everyone: ahahhahahahaha.

oh yeah, BS came by today. he had some KCM thing and it was in Irvine, so he stopped by. that guy got kinda skinnier surprisingly! me and dykas were like, "it's about time!" haha. but yeah, good ol' BS...

bs: so phil, do you have a girlfriend now?
me: naw man. i'm straight.
(bs looks at dykas).
bs: i don't even need to ask you.
me: ahahahahahahaha.

i went to Target with minh to develop some pictures. we decided to look around and i was going to buy another disposable camera for the upcoming freshmen retreat. i have this tendency of always buying a disposable camera after using one up. people have been telling me to just buy my own camera b/c it'll eventually save me money. but of course my stubborn self always popped excuses of how i never take that many pictures anyways. well, that stubborness finally ripped apart after i saw some really cheap cameras in the camera section. i was THIS close to buying this hideous, round Fujifilm one that was $40. however, my eyes found an even better Fujifilm camera for $50 and it was like sooooo much better for the ten extra dollars. so now i finally have my own camera! no, it is not a digital camera. no, it does not fit in my pocket. and no, it does not weigh less than a pound. BUT i like it ok?! the thing works. it zooms in and out. it even has a flash. the thing's humoginous but i think it's cute alrite?

that same night, dykas was really hungry so i asked minh if i could drive his car to Del Taco. after a few seconds of hesitation, he let me use his awesome 10 year old ride and i drove dykas to Del Taco. man, i sooooo got stick down now! i only stalled once and that was b/c i accidently went into Drive Thru. but yeah, driving manual rules...even if it's with minh's car!

martin luther king jr. b-day was spent playing ball with the irvine juniors. dykas and i honestly did not know what to expect from these guys. sean looks like a bum, jay looks strong, and eugene just looks lazy. haha. so we ended up playing 3 on 3 and it was the two freshmen with Jay. boy did they underestimate us! i mean, i didn't know what to expect from them either but they ended up showing some experienced skills. but that's no match for phykas and dykas! all cpc freshmen males. you have been challenged. practice while you can. on saturday, the opposers will cry. your balls belong to irvine!

man, i really hate my Writing class. after today's class, i realized that i have to rewrite alotta my 7 page paper that i wrote all day on saturday. it kinda reminds me of the time when chang and cj critiqued my paper. i know i already mentioned this but if you only knew. you seriously feel like you got used and abused. freakin' sodomy! haha. ok, that's gross. but after each class, i walk out of the class with this hurt face expression...whether it's b/c he used my paper in class as an example of BSing or just sending us home with another depressing paper to do. i want to like the teacher, i really do! but he's just asking for bitter and malicious thoughts! oh well oh well oh well...

minh: man, work out b*tch!

another night of attempting to fall asleep, but failing and ending up on my blogger. but that's ok. i wanted to blog for a while now. you see, my blog was having a few problems for a few days. my stuff would be updated but it wouldn't show up on my current page. but when you looked at my archives, it showed everything. so after going at it for a few days, blogger finally decided to fix it yesterday morning. i was so frustrated i was even thinking about starting a xanga. yeap, that bad.

i forget how i ended up changing my blog. i remember browsing the web and.....oh yeah! i remember now. i was looking for help with my blog b/c it wasn't working. so i typed in "blog" into Altavista's search engine. out came all of these people's blogs with these cool skins that they had customized themselves. i decided to browse through some sites where i can use different templates and i found the one i am currently using right now. all of these cool features that i never had! so i fixed up my blog for a good 4 hours. i am soooo serious dude...html crap really kills time! well, i guess it isn't really html stuff but you know what i mean.

last night, i had my first discipleship thing with eugene so we just went to Chili's for dinner b/c simon was working that night. man, i wasn't even hungry but simon ended up picking out two "surprises" for us. too bad i was too full to enjoy anything. but it was a good time of sharing. nothing crazy deep or serious but we shared a bit. it was good. who would've thought someone like eugene would disciple me? haha. God works in strange ways.

after church, dykas and i just chilled at eugene's apt. with the rest of the irvine guys. last night, i met Grace Um aka Gum. haha. that's such a cool nickname...which reminds me. people at church have started calling me Phykas. like when Genie was introducing me to Grace, she was like, "this is phykas." ugh. i can't believe it's becoming so permanent! i even prefer Phily over that! haha. anyways, grace was a pretty cool chick. 3rd year history major. she's a very nice person to talk to. i doubt i'll ever see her again but it was nice meeting her.

so as the guys were playing Smash for a few hours, i just went on billy's computer and discovered some new music: The Used and The All-American Rejects. pretty good. i'm not THAT into The Used cause they like to do alotta mindless screaming in their music. but i'm happy i discovered two more treasures on my own.

today, dykas, willburt, and minh went snowboarding really early in the morning. i didn't go b/c of financial reasons and i had to do my cursed essay. fortunately, i had a really good day today. it was quiet and peaceful. i woke up at 12:30 and went online for 5 hours. haha. changed my blog and did my essay for 6 hours. man, i never knew i could write so much in an essay. the assignment was to do a 4-6 page paper but i ended up doing 7. man, i seriously just wanted to stop after every paragraph (there's about 10), but i remembered i still hadn't done any psych. reading. so i pushed and pushed and by the grace of God, i conquered that crap! don't you just love that feeling right after you finish writing a long paper? you feel like you just lost 10 pounds or something. haha. i remember when i finished writing my Personal Statement for college apps. i felt like i lost a good 10 pounds then too! but after chang and cj read and critiqued it, i felt like i gained 20. THAT was seriously a baaaaaaaad day for me. they had a great time. i just wanted to jump off a cliff. man, what an unforgettable memory. let's repress that sucker!

so i'm taking my korean class and it's been really good. in alotta ways, it reminds me of korean school back in elementary school. oh how i hated korean! i remember how me and my friends always use to complain to the teacher, "why do we have to learn korean? we live in america! they speak ENGLISH!!!" i also remember how my mom used to tell me that i would thank her someday for these classes that i took every year. boy do i regret not listening to her. i should've taken advantage of korean school. my korean would be spankin' decent if i really tried in those annoying classes. but anyways, korean 1b is a good class. the teacher is really nice and we have this whole course packet full of worksheets, just like in korean school. and there's always those handful of morons in the class that always say stupid things to make the class fun. lol. you know, those guys who really suck at korean and always ask the teacher if they can go to the bathroom? well, not in college but you know the type i'm describing. but i feel like i'm learning alot. all of my korean imperfection reveals little by little. but some of the stuff we have to do seems pretty unnecessary too...

jason: suhn-seng-neem, why do you have to make it so gay?
teacher: mo gaaaaaaaaah?!

lol.
4 hours of changing blog. you know it's dope! haha. also changed my blog title just as i promised. i'll blog tomorrow...i mean later today after church.

testing once again!
testing...
ok, this really sucks. right now, it's 3 in the morning and i can't fall asleep. i have to wake up in 4 hours, i'm really tired, but i just CANNOT fall asleep! *yawn* and when i look at my blog, none of my stuff gets posted. but when you look at the archives, everything is being posted up! everyone else's stupid blog works except mine!

last night, i went to my clusters group and had a pretty good time. every single guy showed up except for jay. including old phil chung, that's 10 people! this is definitely no small group. (no pun intended). but it was good seeing everyone again. i haven't been to clusters since early december? anyways, we went over chapter 3 in our book, The Pursuit of God. man, AW TOZER is da man! i like the his writing style...short but DENSE material! we learned about different veils that we put in our hearts. you know, like barriers that keep us from going to God. so i was thinking about this and i realized that i've had veils in my heart in almost every moment of my life. BUT! i also realized that the times i did not have any veils (super duper rare), i was completely content. it was like life was cake. everything was good. every experience and sensation was like a blessing. so we had a good discussion after we read the chapter...

eugene: JESUS!

you can never go wrong with that answer. lol.

but speaking of veils, i think i finally realized i have a gambling problem. you see, i started to play blackjack with minh for a few quarters just for fun once in while. but little by little, occassional gambling became daily. 50 cent bets became 5 dollar bets. starting off with $1.25 became starting off with $10. last night, i won a grip of money from minh and willburt b/c i was seriously on! but tonight was not such a good night. let's just say, i lost enough money to realize that i have a gambling problem. this "fun" has become an idol. i looked at myself and i definitely saw all of the symptoms. i couldn't help but wonder...how did i get like this?! that sneaky bastard we call Satan really knows how to mess with us. but we can't always blame that idiot. we are responsible for our actions. anyways, as a result of tonight's losses, i have decided to give up gambling...even if it's just for a few quarters or bucks. i need some time off until i feel mature enough to "have fun" moderately. man, i've been giving up alotta things in my life recently.

i got up in the middle of the night to take a piss and this is what i saw in the mirror. so this is like the first time someone's ever written on me while i was asleep. i had warned minh that i was a really light sleeper and if he ever tried to write on me, i'd wake up right away. boy do i feel stupid!

Thought of the Day: The Color of Money!
Song of the Day: Simple Plan-When I'm With You
i had a pretty chillaxin' weekend. on saturday, minh do let me and cj drive his beat up, i mean pimp ride corolla! well, of course the only reason why we wanted to drive it was cause it was stick. cj and i really sucked at first but after a while, we got the hang of it. man, stick's really fun, even if it's with minh do's car. haha.

b/c cj was sick of dormfood ALREADY (the spoiled bastard), i took him out to some korean food in irvine. J let me drive her awesome car with the awesome deck. i now really would not mind driving a civic just like Chang's. black, four doors, and a nice system. i'm not sure if i would choose stick though. it's fun and all but it isn't convenient like an automatic. oh well, i'll worry about that later.

that night, we all went to Hooters and had some bbq wings. i actually didn't feel like going at first but i wanted to check out this popular place. we basically ate overpriced food with alotta people. nothing special. and like dykas said, the girls weren't even pretty. but afterwards, we had one crazy gambling session! normally, it's just me, cj, and minh. at first, it was just me and cj going one on one. but as soon as minh found out, he had to get in cause cj had robbed him the other night. it was cool though cause dykas, bunz, and willbert joined too! man, lots of fun. i was down alot but i ended up winning like $15 of quarters! when i woke up in the morning, i found out cj won $70 from minh do! that's like straight up Rounders! crazy no?

after church, we dropped off cj at the airport and i took a niiiiiiiice nap. last night's 3 hours and food coma. naps in the afternoon really know how to hit the spot. after dinner, i did alotta studying from like 9-2am? but i took frequent breaks by playing cards with minh. haha. my roommates does NOT study! everytime i check up on him, he's either playing cs or watching dragonball. haha. so chill. "today's friday. enjoy your day!" lol. what a quote.

after i finished studying, willburt gave me a haircut. i'm so happy to find someone who can give me a decent haircut in the dorms. now, i don't have to go find some korean place who will charge me $15 for a crappy haircut. thanks willburt! haha. that reminds me...after willburt and frank gave each other haircuts, they were both taking showers...

minh: hey, will and frank are taking showers and i just turned off the lights!
me: ahahahahahahaah.
minh: come here!
(lots of yelling and cussing).
us: ahahahahahahah.
(turn lights on).
me: hey, turn it off again!
(turn light off).

so today in church, i learned about the biblical view of women. basically, women are to serve as helpers for men and "be busy at home." it was a really good discussion for the college group. haha. lots of comments that offended both guys and girls but we all had a great theological time. so as we were discussing the characteristics of a godly woman, i once again realized that this is indeed a dying breed. godly women are compared to what was it...rubies? it's really a special thing, to have a woman who loves God. so when dennis was like, "behind every man there is a....." i was thinking, "there is a stronger man!" haha. it's really hard to think that there's godly women out there. it's almost like a myth or a fairytale. but of course we all know that they exist somewhere in this world. i think they're all just hiding in a secret cave somewhere in Canada. i'm determined to find that cave someday!

tonight was connie's b-day so everybody drank in our room again. another night of temptation and boredom. it really sucks when you're the only one who's fighting the good battle. everyone attacking all at once and i have no backup. so my only choice is to runaway right? it's tough though. sometimes, don't you just wish God would straight up reward you for your "good" deeds? "well done, good and faithful servant." but at the sametime, i guess i take His grace for granted ALL the time. yeah, this is war. it's like 10 vs. 1. however, if God is for us, who can be against us right?

happy birthday connie.

my writing class is really tough. everyone i know so far does not like the class b/c it's just soooooo much work! so i have this class on tuesday's and thursday's and yesterday was thursday. i was totally stressed out after class b/c i had so much work to do from my other classes too, especially Sociology. Sociology is really early in the morning, really boring in the morning, and has a discussion starting next week in the morning. it's also alotta work, freakin' 2 books that are, you know...boring! solution? drop that mother! so now, i'm going back to my psych. class which works out perfectly! i get to use the same book, i don't have to go to discussion, and the lectures are posted up online! genie told me that i wouldn't be too far behind at all either. the only negative is that the class is at 8:00am!!! that's like freakin' high school! but i guess that's just how much i hate Sociology. i couldn't believe how happy i was after i dropped that class. yeahyeah, i know. this is boring material. but that's ok, i write for my own memories.

but speaking of memories, i just remembered something that's been on my mind for a while. there are ALOT of xanga users out there! i now feel that blogs are the minority b/c almost no one's heard of it! xanga this and xanga that. i mean, i guess it does look a bit cooler b/c of that profile thing with the picture and the calander. but i can't forget chang's argument about xangas. something about how you can't be a conformist. haha. just b/c everyone chooses one thing doesn't mean you should too b/c you'll just keep changing. i guess he's right. i invested too much into this blog anyways.

CJ came to irvine last night! we began his visit with a trip to Albertson's and drive-thru at Del Taco. after all the introductions to everyone, cj, minh, and i played blackjack for a long time. gosh, it was really fun b/c there were some pretty high bets with our petty laundry money. i can't believe minh's piggy bank had soooooo much money! it just wouldn't go empty....until around 3:30! haha. so many middle fingers from minh CAT do. vietnamise blackjack is the way to go! (connie richards, that unintentionally rhymes!).

just a few days ago...

me: minh do! wake up! you have class in an hour.
minh: mmmmm?! what? hello?
me & kiyoshi: ahahahhahahahah.

just this morning...

me: minh! wake up! it's almost 12:30. you're gonna be late for you class.
minh: mmmmmmmm...F it.
me & kiyoshi: ahahahahahhha.

i spent alot of my day reading yesterday. gosh, taking writing AND sociology is such a pain in the arse! a crapload of reading for both classes and they're not exactly the most exciting things to read. so yesterday was my reading day. i noticed that i zone out alot when i read. like i'll think i was reading and i'll daydream for a while. then i look at what paragraph i'm on and realize that i have no idea what's going on. so i start over and repeat the daydreaming process again. it's b/c small words or phrases trigger memories of my past and i start with my whole crazy imagination. for example, if i see something like Vietnam, it'll remind me of Minh Do and i'll start thinking about all the times i've lost to blackjack to him. haha. i don't know, something like that.

so last night was Bunz's birthday. annie and J got him a cake and we all sang him happy birthday in the studyroom. i think he liked the surprise. it wasn't the most organized event, but it was something....

bunz: hey, let's have some cake and beer!
me: ahahahahaha. that's gross.

last night, connie richards pointed out my "God is great. Phil is cool. You are gay." title. we discussed how too many people use "gay" and "retarded" w/o realizing what they're saying and how it could offend people. i personally use "gay" and "retard" ALL the time so i was trying to think of an excuse. the best thing i could come up with was the fact that i used those words just for expression or slang. in a sense, it is true right? i mean if you think about it, there's plenty of words that are potentially harmful to all kinds of people. we can't be satisfy every single person out there right? but i don't know, i wasn't satisfied with my answer and i'm still poindering on the subject. i guess the least i could is change by blog title even though it's been up there ever since i started blogging. but i don't know. i hate changing things that have been permanent for so long. argh! i'll change it. i just need some time.

willburt: philburt, you taking a dump?
me: yeap.
willburt: HOLLA!
me: ahahhaahahahha.
(flush toilet).
me: HOLLA!
willburt: HOLLA!
(connie opens bathroom door).
connie: what are you guys doing in here?
me: just chillin'.
connie: hi will!
willburt: get outta here!!!!
me: ahahahahahah.

last night, my dormmates found out my infamous picture b/c dykas sent it to willburt...

willburt: philburt, BE HAPPY!
(runs to his room, signs on, and sends me the picture).
me: OMG!
(everyone runs to his room).
everyone: ahahahahahahahaha.
me: nooooooooooooo!

last night, minh and willburt had another one of those "geting punched" games again. they each let annie, J, and connie punch them in the arm and stomach for 12 seconds each. lol. it's like straight up Jackass! gosh, J was punching so hard her knuckles started bleeding! such a weird night last night. but it was a good night.
