yesterday, dykas and i went to go get our korean interviews. we were pretty sure that we were both going to be in Korean 1A, which is where we wanted to be b/c our korean sucked. unfortunately...

(in korean).
lady: do you speak korean?
me: yeah, a little.
lady: well, your sentences are good and your korean sounds good.
me: no, i'm not good.
lady: i'm going to put you in 1B.
me: no. i want to start from the beginning with the basics.
lady: i'm sorry. we have limited space and you're too good to be in 1A. it would be boring for you.
(in english).
me: no, you don't understand. my korean is really bad.
everyone: ahahahahahahhahaha.
lady: i know you're type. you'll be in 1B. review all your material and come back next quarter.

but i'm kinda happy that i got into 1B though. one, it KINDA shows that i'm not the worst korean speaker after all. two, i only have to take 3 classes for 1 quarter. this means that my earliest class starts at 10. woohoo! and three, i'm just happy.

i finally bought all of my stinkin' books. 4 books=over $300, which actually isn't so bad compared to some of my other friends, going over $400. ridiculous. we are seriously paying to study. uh, where's the justice in that? but since this was Welcome Week, i got a 15% coupon on UCI stuff so i bought a sweater and a pair of short. dude, that crap was like over $80! but i figured, might as well get it now while i can get a discount. i know these suckers aren't going to get any cheaper. yeah, college rips you off.

last night was the Friends Season Premiere! it was pretty cool cause Middle Earth had this big projecter in the basketball courts so everyone could watch the show together (no cable in dorms). so basically, hundreds of students came out and we all enjoyed the first episode of Friends. it was pretty cool. everyone laughed at joey. everyone groaned when the commercials came up. everyone left the courts right after Friends, and didn't bother to watch Scrubs. lol.
